I think the animation in this one is even better than the first one.
Overheard in the theater last night during the end credits "Real talk man, that was the most beautiful motion picture I have ever seen" and I cannot disagree! Just visually stunning in every goddamn frame.
And it looks like part 2 is shaping up to be [minor spoilers]
basically a love letter to fix-it fic? Which I approve of in EVERY WAY.
I want this franchise to go on until they literally run out of prepositions. (Beneath the Spiderverse. Around the Spiderverse. Above the Spiderverse. Etc.)
Across the Spider-Verse is the second recent movie where
the multiverse is in danger because of a bagel.
(I laughed so hard at the reveal that
Spot
was
Bagel Scientist.)
Not a trend I expected.
OMG Steph, how did I not pick up on that I love it even more now.
There’s a movie poster for the movie
All of it Always All Over the Place (with a bagel)
in the background over
The Spot’s apartment.
There’s a movie poster
What the fuck, that's awesome!
Hmm, I'm seriously considering extending my James Gunn embargo to GotG3 and just jumping to this as my next one to see. Zero ambivalence or worry about how much I'll enjoy it.
Just got back from Across the Spider-verse and absolutely loved it. I still haven't seen any of the
Venom
movies so I had to look up the cameo from those. I was honestly surprised at the number of
live-action universe
references there were. I was also very happy to see my favorite Spider-man cartoon
Spectacular Spider-Man
get some love, too.
omg I loved how
unimpressed Mrs. Chen is with the whole thing. She's seen Venom eat people before. The multiverse is nothing to her.
The Venom movies are hilarious, btw.
That's where she's from! I knew I'd seen her somewhere. Anyway, I went to Across the Spider-verse yesterday, and I loved it. I went with two friends who were equally impressed. The animation was just jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
