Discussion of all Marvel Cinematic Universe related movies and TV shows, including, but not limited to, the Avengers, Captain America, Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, etc., etc., etc. ad-infinitum.
Discussion of non-MCU Marvel titles like the X-Men or the Fantastic Four is also permitted. Ties to comics may be discussed, but this is not the primary forum for comics discussion (see the Other Media thread).
Spoiler policy: For broadcast TV shows, blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast. I was not super-impressed with that episode, although yes, the canon-bisexual thing was nice. It didn't feel like it moved the plot very much. I still have lots of questions.
Where is Sylvie from? Why didn't Loki ask her
about her mother while they were talking about his?
Is she a Frost Giant or has the MCU entirely forgotten that? Is her being a variant part of why she's female, and if so doesn't that mean the variation happened before her birth?
Why
were they both so bad at fighting normal unenhanced human beings if they're basically gods? ISTR Loki being a lot better than that.
Why did Loki
appear to give a shit about the people who were going to die, when mere days previously he would happily have had NYC burn to the ground?
I don't think we need to spoiler font in here?
I think Loki did ask Sylvie about her mother at some point and she deflected
The entire plot of this episode was pretty stupid, honestly. But I REALLY dislike Mobius, and I generally enjoy the Absurd Plot Device Forces Characters To Communicate trope, so.
I don't like that the thing is called a TemPad or TempPad whatever. Petty gripe, but I guess I feel pretty strongly about it
Because it sounds like a feminine hygiene product, or ..?

I still want to know more, though. Because it strikes me that someone can become a Variant through no fault of their own: they are caught up somehow in an event that splits the timeline. It's pretty horrifying that the TVA's general attitude is to kill them off unless they can be
repurposed for admin support.
Hm, maybe we should amend that rule. Doesn't make much sense with an episode released every week.
Anyway, I hadn't really thought about what makes a Variant a Variant - that little slideshow of Loki variants were not all the Loki we are used to (who is I guess the Loki of the Sacred Timeline if that is truly a thing) just having done one thing different. I mean, some of them could be. I don't know. The whole thing does not make sense to me.

That doesn't help but it's also just a weirdly non-apt name. Like who would look at that thing and think "well, it's certainly some kind of pad" when it is not padded and doesn't look like a notepad, lily pad, keypad or iPad.
Unrelatedly, there was a point where someone said something about time and space dimensions and they seemed awfully close to TARDIS
I think that this is setting up one or more magical gotchas. Either Sylvie is projecting this experience into Loki’s head to get more info, or Loki faked the broken temppad to string Sylvie along for more info or both.
I was thinking she was projecting the experience at one point but it sounded like she had to use memories for that. Although she could, of course, be lying about that.
My thought is,
do they really need a working evacuation ark to power up their TARDIS remote, or just some intact part of its drive system that holds sufficient charge?
