I'm REALLY liking Owen Wilson as a foil for Loki.
I dig the chillax energy Owen Wilson brings to the proceeding. I also really like the retro SF aesthetic of the show -- some Brazil, quite a bit of Doctor Who, a dash of Jean-Pierre Jeunet. It's weirdly comforting.
I enjoy Loki in small doses and Hiddleston is always fun to watch, but the whole "I don't mean to hurt people, I do it because I have to" part totally made me enact Thor's "did you though" meme, nose wrinkle and head tilt and all. I mean obviously they had to make him somewhat sympathetic for the show to work, but I was like, been there, done that, ridden on that woobiefication train and kinda over it. That said, I was quite entertained and happy to be on board for various time travel shenanigans.

That's a cocktail made to order for me! Maybe he can go to the City of Lost Children.
Hm. I'm not sure what I think yet, but there's some good potential.
Okay, well. My reaction to the first ep was largely "Do they know not EVERYTHING has to be Brazil?" with a side order of "Oh god this really is going to be a solid hour of Previously In The MCU isn't it."
In theory this show has all of the elements I generally like shows to have, but...meh. It's not working for me so far.
It went pretty hard on the Brazil aesthetic, but I honestly loved the way it looked.
I was tickled to see Pillboi (from The Good Place) turn up.

THAT'S WHO THAT WAS
OMG Steph, thank you.
I had to pause the show and hit IMDB, because of my overwhelming "It's That Guy" reaction.
Not thrilled with it so far. IMHO having the whole cosmos run by mundane and questionably competent office-style middle management only works in satire like The Good Place, not something meant to be taken seriously.
