Spoiler policy: For broadcast TV shows, blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast. For movies and Internet streaming shows, whitefont all plot-related discussion until it's been in wide release two weeks. I saw Dark Phoenix over the last weekend and...I wouldn't say it was Bad, just Okay. The thing is, for the best story-arc ever of my favorite comics team, Okay just isn't enough. I'm increasngly convinced that movies just aren't a good fit for stories where part of the appeal is the interaction between a large number of characters in multiple combinations. In a serialized format like comics or a TV show you have time to showcase all those relationships, but in a 2-3 hour one-shot some characters will inevitably become wallpaper.
That said, I thought the fact that, in at least two major turning points, the right answer turning out to be "trust Jean" redeemed a lot of issues.
I have my ticket for Far From Home for the 4th of July. Imax with luxury seating. I didn't particularly want Imax, but it was the only one available. I hear it's pretty much the epilogue for Endgame. I'll get lots of napkins for crying.
We're going to be on vacation when it opens, so we either have to wait until we come home, or see if (1) there's a movie theater within reasonable driving distance, and (2) if we can wrangle people into going with us.
