Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Not this weekend. If we can line up a babysitter, maybe next Saturday.

OKAY, SO.

Before I even get to the movie, I just want to say, HELLO, BEARD!

Plei, ISTG that I said to Tim, "Well, at least all the fans of the hobo beard got to see it one more time on the big screen." Because I'm a dick like that.

Also, everything about our kitty makes SO much more sense now. Although I'm going to be VERY wary when he decides to puke, which is about twice a week, just for funsies. (For real. The vet has thoroughly checked him out and says he's totally healthy and just likes to puke. Good times.)

Anyway, DAMN, what a good movie. I'm a little fuzzy on where the tesseract was between CA:TFA and Captain Marvel. How/where did Mar-Vell get it?

And I will never, EVER stop laughing at how Nick Fury lost his eye. Holy shit.

Mar-Vell had access to Sooper Seekrit Stuff. Howard and company found it at the end of CA:TFA so the SSR/SHIELD probably had it and she probably got it from them as part of the Sooper Seekrit Stuff Access Pass. Remember, Howard was still alive when the plane crashed.

THE BEARD LOOKED SO GOOD I MISSED IT SO MUCH OMG

ALSO!

How fitting is it that Stan Lee's cameo here was as himself? I loved that. But I love Mallrats. So. And, man. I am seeing it again tomorrow. MOAR CAROL!

That was fun! Although I do think they need to explain why Nick didn't call Carol during Loki's attack on NYC.

I wanted more character beats between Carol and Maria. I think that relationship needed as much time as Carol and Nick.

But it was fun! Even if the presence of the refugee Skrull on Mar-Vell's ship didn't make much sense to me...

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I have my tickets! I'm taking Ryan to see it tomorrow! He's pretty psyched.

Oh, and the opening MCU animation with all of Stan Lee's cameos instead of the Marvel characters totally made me cry. That was such a nice touch.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Even if the presence of the refugee Skrull on Mar-Vell's ship didn't make much sense to me...

My head cannon is that The Skrulls were on Mar-Vell's ship the entire time. Mar-Vell was transporting Skrull refugees to safety, when they came across C-53 and detected the Tessaract's energy signature. Mar-Vell realized she could use the Tessaract to power an FTL drive, so she went to the surface and either stole the Tessaract, or "borrowed" it from Howard Stark in exchange for helping him invent the quadjet, and he helped her set up her research.

The irony is that if she had realized the Tessaract was the goddamn SPACE STONE, she could have just used it to open a portal instead of trying to invent a FTL drive.
