I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oded Fehr, their fantasy cast choice, is Israeli with parents from Germany and the the Netherlands, because otherwise progressive fannish circles tend to be fucking awful when an actor is Israeli, holy crap

He'd still be awesome as Strange. But, yeah, that would get tiresome.

I'm looking forward to Doctor Strange because I'd like to see more about how magic fits in the MCU. So far we mostly have Asgardian tech-indistinguishable-from-magic and whatever the hell Loki does. The whole Doctor Strange concept suggests that magic is a thing, but what kind? Spiritual? Religious? Physics we just haven't figure out? A mutation (which suggests physics that we just haven't figured out)? Of course, the MCU can't use mutations in the Marvel sense, so something inhuman, maybe?

I've gotten over being tired of Cumberbatch, since I haven't seen him in anything but Sherlock since he played Khan a couple of years ago. (I'm not counting Smaug.)

Yeah. And because I know damn well most of the people fantasy casting him don't actually know squat about the actor's background and only really know him from The Mummy, they'd feel BETRAYED! How dare he have played an Egyptian character! (Because all actors should clearly take principled stands and that clearly never means torpedoing their careers.)

This is why I take routine Tumblr breaks, BTW.

You should listen to Cabin Pressure. A: funny as hell; B: bonus Tony Head in later series.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

He really would. My brother thinks that Alan Rickman would have made a good Dr. Strange. (My vote was for Will Arnett as GOB Bluth as Dr. Strange, because I am a jackass.)

::seal barking::

Arnett as GOB as DOOM would be EVEN BETTER.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I watched a clip of the Avengers fighting Doom in the new cartoon and the voice casting for him is a head-scratcher. Doom shouldn't sound like 80's Skeletor, IMO.

Though Putin would be a lot cooler if he was a sorcerer in power armor.

You don't think that Putin is a sorcerer? I wouldn't be so sure.

This being the Internet, there's a good chance that was faked.

Oh, yes, I should check that out again. I listened to the first season, but I got distracted by something shiny.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I've finally finished all of season 1 of Daredevil. I enjoyed it a lot, but I got a little tired of all the fight scenes, especially when Matt would be whoopin' ass and then all of a sudden it's like he completely forgot how to fight and gets his ass handed to him. He always either wins out in the end or escapes, but it just got too rote and cliche for me. OTOH, I love badass Karen; I still can't believe she shot Wesley!! I totally ♥ Karen.
