I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Succinct and apt, Calli. I think the only thing I might add is oof

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My spoiler-filled take is as follows: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a side of so while off the grid, Steve, Sam, and Natasha were totally passing the time getting filthy with each other, right?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's fair, -t.

PMM, I can only hope so. And if anyone has links, I'd love to see them, please.

Calli, if I find it... (but the moment Sam was grumbling about it being awkward, I totally decided that was WHY it was awkward!)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

PMM, I like your head canon!

Okay, I saw it last night with a passel of fellow geek girls and I was pretty traumatized. I was unhappy with how Gamora went out... tossed off a cliff instead of in glorious battle? But that's my issues. I have very strong feelings about the Guardians.

I appreciated the number of laugh lines and shout-outs to running gags there were. And I suppose it was inevitable that there would be a scene where people who should be on the same team try to kill each other. That was also handled pretty well.

And oh, Peter Quill. You ridiculous, insecure, charming man-child. Way to break my heart.

I definitely was not expecting many of the deaths that happened. I was convinced Cap was gonna bite it. I don't know if she'll wander over here, but amyth has (as usual), an enormously satisfying theory about all of that.

Okay, I cannot spend all my day here, but I needed to come flail with my people. I think I want to see it one more time with folks who will understand.

ETA Fay has said, and I am with her, that she was not at all on board with Wakandans being front line cannon fodder. It wasn't quite "Weesa peepa gonna die?" but even in the trailers I was highly uncomfortable with it. It makes sense from a narrative standpoint, I guess (they have the best weapons and are the only fighting force we have seen in action, really, plus the UN have their heads up their asses) but the meta makes it super problematic.

I can see that, however, I think it was the right narrative decision and that who was left standing after the snap was also great on the meta level. Okoye remains. M'Baku remains. The characters that could be killed for cheap narrative impact and never brought back because they are secondary characters, in other words, survive the battle. I was afraid going in that we would lose them.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just saw it. Never has the title of this thread felt more appropriate.

(More thoughts when I'm not on my phone and can type longer sentences.)

I had that thought while watching. Also, at one point, noticed that Tony was with two Peters and that was far.more amusing than it should be

Okay, more thoughts.

Nonspoilery - I thoroughly enjoyed all of the crossover meetups. Every time two characters from adjacent universes introduced themselves? SOLID GOLD. (Semi-spoilery: "I am Groot" "I am Steve Rogers" BWAHAHAHA LOVE. Groot making Thor's ax handle out of his arm? LOOOOOOVE. I am Team Groot.)

I am unsure about the ending. It was on the one hand extremely upsetting, but also weakened by knowing most of them have sequels coming out in the next couple of years?

I was really really expecting Tony to die. Obviously it's worse for him the way it happened instead.

All in all, I was impressed with how successfully this move pulled off having ALL THE CHARACTERS in it, and giving everyone a few moments to shine without feeling like a roll call. And I liked that Thanos had a good meaty arc of his own, which was a relief after 19 movies where he just shows up after the credits to sit in a chair at us. Gamora broke my heart.

Here's a question (spoilery) when they've got him sedated on Titan, why not just CUT HS FREAKING ARM OFF? Wouldn't that have been a lot faster and easier than trying to pull the gauntlet off his clenched fist?
