so he could be CGIed to look younger in his first scene.
That was CREEPY AS HELL. (Although, to be fair, I started finding Michael Douglas creepy at least 10 years ago because he started reminding me of my dad. So I found him creepy as current!old!Hank Pym, as well as CGIed Hank Pym.)
I did like...well, appreciate the fact that they made Hank Pym kind of a violent jerk in the movie, instead of trying to make us comic geeks forget he was a violent jerk. They didn't hammer on the point, that would have just made us hate him, but it was there. Hank Pym = not ever actually a nice guy.
I'm pretty sure that Michael Douglas has never not been creepy.
He was hot in
Streets of San Franscisco.
But that was back in the 70s (ah, youth).
I was so freaked out about how young he looked in the cold open that I missed almost everything else. I barely noticed Peggy!
I just saw Ant-man yesterday and I enjoyed it a lot.
Youthful Michael Douglas didn't bother me. Peggy seemed a little too young for the time period, but she might have just aged well. I was surprised to see Howard, as I thought his death had occurred earlier than that.
Mac, whose judgement I do not trust, and my brother, whose judgement I usually do trust, both enjoyed FF. So huh?
Well, the Rotten Tomatoes score is 9% rather than 0.
Seeing Ant-Man again this afternoon. Two friends have squeezed their first viewing into their work/life schedules and I cannot bail on them, but man, this day has sucked and I really want to just go to back to bed.
But! I do want to see it again, so I can finalize my reaction to Peggy, Howard, and young!Hank. I'll report back. News as it happens!
I'm going to see Mr. Holmes tomorrow, and then I want to see Sean the Sheep, and once I've got those watched I can see about Ant Man. Plans!
