I think they're teasing us with cross roulette. Mack has it, Fitz has it in the previews, I'm hoping Lincoln ends up with it myself.
I mean, kudos for him playing Daisy and understanding brainwashing means brainwashing, but still. I was not surprised to see he and Mae had a plan, but I was not expecting Lash! Glad to see he caused some damage, but damn, he would have been useful! Kill Hive and cure the infected! That's a purpose-built Inhuman!

Do I need to avoid SHIELD until I see CA:CW?
At this point I'm thinking avoiding it indefinitely isn't a bad call.
No, I don't think so. They talk about the Sokovia Accords but nothing really about any of the characters from the movie.
edit: so who is socially and politically appropriate to have die off?

Yeah, I'm not super motivated to catch up.

TV seasons are too long, I think. They've been setting up and filling till the finale.
Yeah. TCG thinks all shows should be 12 episodes or less. I tend to agree. He is hesitant to take on new network shows because he doesn't want to commit to 22 episodes.
