Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewey didn’t need to bother to overthrow the Empire. In a few years, the Imperials would have all fallen off of ledges and blown themselves up due to lax Occupational Safety standards.

That line about safety railings a couple of weeks ago made me chortle
I don’t know how I feel about the whole helmet thing yet. As a sacrifice, it was well done. I’m just anxious about the long term effects on Din’s identity
I have questions about several things--like how does this database work? It just looks for faces that are known "criminals" but allows anyone else? That doesn't seem to make sense. Why were Mayfield's clearances still good? He hasn't been in the Empire for along time so...they just don't update anything and hope that the facial scanner will catch anyone who shouldn't be accessing things?
I was also wondering if the pirates were just people who have been exploited by the Empire and are trying to fight back and under normal circumstances Din would have helped them but instead he was killing them.
Also I thought storm troopers were clones.
The Empire always had crappy and nonsensical security.
Stormtroopers started off as clones but haven’t been for a long time. I want to say since the Clone Wars but I’m not sure that’s accurate.
I have to say I’m disappointed in the New Republic’s penal standards. Hard labor guarded by droids with tasers?
It is a bit carceral for media made in 2020.
Trailer for the S1 of Bridgerton, based on the first book of the historical romance series by Julia Quinn: [link]
They got Julie fucking Andrews (!) to narrate the show. I've read some of the books, although it's been so long, I can't remember much detail other than about the one centered on Penelope, which is the last one I read (I think). Looks fun, with lavish visuals and attractive and diverse cast. It drops on the Christmas Day on Netflix. I can't go home to Canada because of COVID-19 (sniff), and this looks like just the thing to provide distractions.
Just got a reminder that season 5 episode 1 of The Expanse will be released soon.
Maybe tomorrow, but probably Wednesday.
Oh, shoot. I am definitely behind on The Expanse but I don't rightly remember how much.
I really wanted to like Bridgerton more than I did (it was available on the press screener site a couple of months ago) - the cast is great and it's visually gorgeous and Yay Regency Romance Tropes (Mostly*), but I couldn't work up any enthusiasm about the mystery built into the framing device and so it ultimately fell flat. I haven't read the books so I can't comment on whether it succeeds as an adaptation.
(*Some regency romance tropes in this series are Yikes not Yay.)
