Just finished Fleabag season 2. MY EMOTIONS. It is really, really good. I think I might like it even better than S1, which I liked a lot.
I'm about halfway through Fleabag S1 and I both can't wait to finish the whole thing and also don't want to be done with it because then there won't be any more.
We just started Fleabag this week and it's wonderful--but sometimes hard to watch due to the human messiness and pain on view.
Starting Dead to Me. I'll probably flip over to Justified later.
I only watched the 1st ep of Dead to Me since stuff I thought was going to happen happened and that bugs me.
Watched 2 eps of Fleabag, really disliked the main character.
So now I am starting Chuck.
I also disliked Fleabag. Dead to Me was interesting but after two eps I don't know if I want to watch more. The comedy doesn't blend well with the creepy for me.
I didn't like what I saw of Fleabag, either. I want to like and continue watching Dead to Me, mostly because of Christina Applegate, but it ain't happening. The big secret at the center of the story is just a little too awful for me. I really dislike Linda Cardellini's character.
Joining the "really really really really loved Fleabag" club. Season 2 is one of the smartest, honest, brilliant written and heartbreaking (of all kinds) that I've watched in a long while. It's amazing in how many ways you can show and discuss love in just 6 episodes.
I found Fleabag S1 occasionally a tough seat, since she is so messed up and broken and self-destructive. If this was an hour-long drama, I'd have had more trouble with it, I think. For those who are having trouble with getting past how abrasive she is, I'd recommend checking out episode 4 of season 1 -- the one set in the silent retreat, which was probably my favourite of the season and really highlights the main character's relationship with her sister (and which I think is the beating heart of the show). Not that anyone needs to keep watching anything they don't enjoy.
S1 is kind of a perfect set-up for S2 though, where Fleabag has her shit together slightly better (well, other than the whole falling in love with a Catholic priest thing). I found the S2 arc both heartbreaking and strangely hopeful at the end.
Full confession: I didn't get started on the series until I heard chatters about the main character romancing a priest, hahaha. Stupid Catholic education that warped my psyche forever! Suffice it to say, the whole thing was Extremely My Shit.
