I've never watched Black Mirror, but can never hear or see the title without thinking, "what if phones but too much?"
As someone who hasn't read the books, were the Beaudelaire parents actually still alive in the books ?

I've read the first book, and definitely not .
This may have been the wrong week to catch up on The Man in the High Castke. Or the best possible week. Hard to say.
In any case, the second season lost me - I think this adaptation has some premises I just can't buy into. And spending so much time with the Nazis is, imho, a mistake. If they want to just give me the Trade Minister's story forever and ever in whatever universe, though, I am in.
