Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Is that a thing with him?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

He's the one responsible for Leonardo having an historically inaccurate romance with Lucrezia Donati in Da Vinci's Demons. Can't have a leading man who's not involved in a relationship with the female lead, after all, or even worse who might actually be guilty of the sodomy charges (plural) that were made against him!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've only watched the first half of the season so far and...it was just so bad I don't want to finish it. DH has the screeners so I guess we will at some point, but I don't like anything about any of it. (With the tiniest of exceptions for Death and Desire, whose performers are doing the best they can with what they've been given to work with.)

The less said about this version of Delirium the better. NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Well, that is probably good news for my general media consumption but sad

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The most recent Strange New Worlds is the best bit of Star Trek I've seen in a long long time.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Yeah, up to now I thought this season has been pretty weak, but this last one is one of the all-time great Trek episodes.

Exactly!

I sat there weeping and am looking forward to the "Why is Star Trek Woke?" rants because I could really use a good laugh right now. I know it was written and shot before Paramount went to the dark side, but that wasn't really a surprise and its nice to see them go out swinging. It'll be hard to give them up come May when Colbert is done. Maybe they'll somehow get bought. Maybe they'll get nuked too. This, episode, iswhatStarTrekisfor.

Worth it to just jump in and watch it cold, or should I do some catching up?

Plot-wise I'd say it works as a stand-alone if you're familiar with Star Trek, but I think watching the first five of the season would give you some good build-up. Have you seen the series at all?
