Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

Three episodes in, and Wednesday is easily exceeding my low expectations.

I do hate how fucking padded these Netflix shows are, though.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I finally saw the end of Andor. I loved it. Great character arcs, and an older woman got to have a major scene (albeit after death).

Agreed. You would think streaming would give a lot more freedom for both episode count and episode length than we see. Let the show runners take whatever time they need to tell each particular story they want to tell instead of trying to force them into a specific running time.

Wheel of Time had the opposite problem: a lot of the episodes could use an extra 10 minutes to let things breathe. (Though it sounds like they may be getting that for season 2.)

Thrive to spite them

So it looks like some of the rumors over why Henry Cavill left The Witcher might be true.

He just announced on Instagram he is partnering with someone at Vertigo and Amazon to make a Warhammer Cinematic Universe. Although there isn't any scripts or writers or directors yet..

In his Instagram post he said having a home like Amazon will give them the freedom to do Warhammer justice and he promises to respect the IP and bring something familiar.

Are there any fans of Louise Penny's Gamache mysteries here? Amazon Prime is streaming a show based on some of her books called Three Pines. [link]

I've watched a few episodes, and I'm enjoying it. They aren't identical to the books, but some things, like raising First Nations issues, are coming in earlier, and I think that's actually a plus.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, thanks, Calli! I had seen that was coming out but I forgot when it was going to start. I'm finishing listening to the latest Gamache book this week so watching the series now-ish should be interesting.

Thrive to spite them

I cancelled Netflix but I'm going to have to get it again so I can watch Glass Onion. I just saw something in a FB group ( I think, maybe an ad) where Ben Shapiro tweeted his reactions to the movie and completely didn't understand how mysteries work. I couldn't get into detail without being spoiled.

I had to google that Ben Shapiro stuff just now - pretty funny! And now I'm kind of bemused that Craig has gone from playing James Bond to playing a brand new franchise hero. I hope he's enjoying that.
