Are there any fans of Louise Penny's Gamache mysteries here? Amazon Prime is streaming a show based on some of her books called Three Pines. [link]
I've watched a few episodes, and I'm enjoying it. They aren't identical to the books, but some things, like raising First Nations issues, are coming in earlier, and I think that's actually a plus.
Oh, thanks, Calli! I had seen that was coming out but I forgot when it was going to start. I'm finishing listening to the latest Gamache book this week so watching the series now-ish should be interesting.
I cancelled Netflix but I'm going to have to get it again so I can watch Glass Onion. I just saw something in a FB group ( I think, maybe an ad) where Ben Shapiro tweeted his reactions to the movie and completely didn't understand how mysteries work. I couldn't get into detail without being spoiled.
I had to google that Ben Shapiro stuff just now - pretty funny! And now I'm kind of bemused that Craig has gone from playing James Bond to playing a brand new franchise hero. I hope he's enjoying that.
A friend of mine went a little viral with his joke about the Ben Shapiro thing: [link]
In my normal confusion I thought Ben Shapiro was Ben Schwartz OR Ari Shapiro and was very confused. The Director of the theater I quit posted a “hot take” (he is older than I am) that it was terribly acted and designed. I am like “you sir, have never watched a murder mystery- certainly not one from the 70’s in America”.
And now I'm kind of bemused that Craig has gone from playing James Bond to playing a brand new franchise hero. I hope he's enjoying that.
Benoit Blanc has to be a lot of fun to play.
Seems like! Since that vodka commercial I am very invested in Daniel Craig enjoying his work.
Did anyone watch the cheerleading show Dare Me, which came out a couple years ago? I think it was originally on the USA network, but it’s streaming on Netflix now. I’m trying to decide if it’s really as bad as I think it is, or if I’m just not in the mood for it. Either way it’s only 10 episodes, and I will finish it because I’m a completist who has to know how things end.
