You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

who the fuck attacks someone with a chin? Yet there he is.

He said this:

1. I looked like a little girl as a kid. 2. When I shave as an adult I still look like a little girl. I hate shaving.

. . . and I just. What. NO.

Also this hashtag I have seen -

#replacing our queerbaiting media with actual queer content

- is long, but brevity does not serve us here.

(The man tweeted "Happy birthday to my onscreen crush" at Rhys Darby. I can't.)

I would like a whole episode with Spanish Jackie and The Widow Evelyn Higgins getting drunk together and telling stories, please. They could talk about how hard it is to find the right velvet for a jacket, and their favorite cocktails, and body disposal!

I adore that Mary was allowed to be pissed about Stede bogging off in the middle of the night and then rocking back up making "Well, that was bracing, what have I missed?" noises. And then! There was talking! Mary and Stede talking about what falling in love is like [hearteyes]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, yes.

To all of that, actually

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And then! There was talking! Mary and Stede talking about what falling in love is like [hearteyes]

THE TALKING

Thrive to spite them

I did not end up watching all of OFMD before the free trial ran out , actually it runs out tomorrow but I went a head and cancelled while I could remember.

I want to watch it but there was still a lot of watch from the hall kind of stuff for me. I think I'm going to wait and see what happens with the discovery merger. I did watch some of Gentleman Jack as well and look forward to continuing that.

I'm trying to be smart about my subscriptions and what I'm watching.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Sigh. We just finished watching it and I'll be joining Kate over on the heart eyes emoji seat. That kiss between Ed and Stede just broke my heart open--I'm one of those weirdos who isn't especially interested in slash or the visuals of hot anyone-on-anyone action, but oh how I love a couple with a long slow emotionally-fraught resonant yearning backstory and a sweet first kiss, and this was all of that and then some. It was so sweet, and so tender, and so earned.

(But also Jim and Oluwande, and how when Black Pete fumbled over the prosthetic finger, muttering, "I whittled it, it's stupid, you don't have to wear it," Lucius swooped in with a reassuring little kiss and "No, I love it." Oh, my heart!)

Right? All the sweetness and queerness is just lovely and the kind of historical accuracy I care about

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That scene is going to live in my heart forever. All of the production choices that were made to culminate in that perfect moment.
