Spike from Peanuts is not very cocky, good counter example
I've been enjoying Y: The Last Man. Not all the plot points stick the landing, but the cast is great and I'm really liking the writing. In addition to being sensitive to the treatment of gender, they are both brutally honest and remarkably subtle in their depictions.
Did you read the Y: The Last Man comic, Tom? Was it any good?
Unfortunately, I haven’t.
I read issues occasionally and while it was entertaining, the staggering genius of Brian K. Vaughn that other people kept raving about was lost on me.
Well, there is a lot to boggle at in WWDITS, but IJWTS Nandor leaving Guillermo's suitcase on the platform was very sad.
That WAS sad!
100% unsurprised at Laszlo's plan and the weird-ass reason behind it.
I was surprised! But in retrospect it was a very Laszlo plan.

Watched the finale. It was okay. A pretty thorough wrap-up. Some smiles, no laughs, no shocks. Meh.
However, the twist at the very end got me.
It did its job -- now I'm wondering if they will get a second season.
A lot of people I follow on Twitter had raved about OMitB, and it's only ten 30ish-minute episodes, so we gave it a go and watched it all in the space of a week. It took until episode four for me to care about what could happen next, but once I cared, I was hooked.
You probably know this by now, dcp, but it has been renewed for a second season, which they're supposed to start shooting in November.
