Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Excellent summation, Calli

A friend of mine on Twitter asked the important question of "I wonder how many women will be in the writing room?"

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Well, Burton has a solid chance of getting the aesthetic right, but I'm not sure how Johnny Depp will do as Wednesday.

Oh god that is all of my feelings right there.

I'm not sure when Tim Burton went from must-see to oh-god-no-anyone-but-him for me, but...ugggggh, I don't want to watch him fuck up something he could have done brilliantly in his sleep in 1992.

Am I the only one really wishing he'd get Melissa Hunter as a producer and/or the lead actress?

Yeah, it makes me sad that to not be all excited for Tim Burton to get his hands on something.

Alice in Wonderland is what started it for me, and the even-campier-than-the-show version of Dark Shadows is what really killed my enjoyment. Which coincides with when he indulged the scenery-chewing wacky of Johnny Depp.

(I own Dark Shadows, because the aesthetic is gorgeous. But it's video wallpaper for me - I do my best to ignore Depp in it as much as possible.)

I haven't even seen anything since Corpse Bride (it's not like I have complaints about Corpse Bride and decided no more Tim Burton, it's just worked out that way) so perhaps it is not fair of me to judge, but I guess I do.

I can hardly believe no one has been saying that either the writers or the actor playing Diego are going for some Dean Winchester vibes. There's just something about how he walks and gets gruff when the plot turns serious.

I'm a couple years late to the party Katerina, but I just watched the first two episodes of The Umbrella Academy and was thinking to myself "Diego is totally superhero Dean Winchester!" David Castañeda even resembles Jensen, which I'm guessing is a coincidence?

Our wings are not tired.

My son made me watch The Umbrella Academy last year and they need to bring me more very soon. It is my understanding they are filming. I never watched Supernatural so I can't comment on the Dean comparison. Maybe some day I'll watch, really the only thing that turned me off in the first episode(s?) was that it was so dark, as in hard for me to see because the scenes were all in the dark. It was a while ago, so that is my only recollection.

move out and draw fire

Oh huh - I can see the Dean Winchester, but I didn't really pick up on it at the time.
