I could actually be okay with a firefly animated series I'm the vein of Star Wars Rebels. It would be a different thing but still potentially a good thing.
I really wanted that Buffy animated series that had artwork by JephbLoeb back in the day.
I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Clone Wars was a much better Anakin arc than the prequels so I'm willing to consider it...but I don't see how you make it family-friendly without handwaving some things, like companions. It would be neat to have Firefly with Chinese characters and actors.

Mm, that is true, I have not been watching that and I quit watching Suits, but I would at least give something with Firefly in the name and Gina Torres on board a try

Watched season 5 episode 1 just now. I liked it. Not much else to say about it yet beyond "Wow."
Episodes 2 and 3 are also available, but I am going to try to wait a few days before watching them. Maybe re-watch episode 1 first, see if can catch things I missed the first time.

Huh, Firefly without Joss or the original cast? Not really Firefly.
I might like Firefly better without* Joss working out his issues. I'd miss his dialogue. I don't know why they'd remake a failed TV show.
