Thank you, Allyson, for posting about what happened. Much love to you, Kristen, Polgara, and Burrell.
I'm glad I got to meet her in person at the LA F2F at the Safari Inn. I always looked forward to reading her posts. She was so ferociously intelligent, and fierce about what she said, did, opined.
An everlasting regret will be that I never got to meet her in person. She was so dynamic and larger-than-life, however, I kinda always felt as if I had.
Did anyone contact Beverly?
Callaluna, me too. We'll raise one for you.
Beverly saw the news last night. I don't remember if she's posted here, but she commented on my DW.
I need to tell mommy. ita called her after the terrorist attacks when I could get internet and not phone. She was profoundly grateful and still asks about my internet friend with the beautiful voice.
amyth and amych, I'm still in Durham. What time will you be at Fullsteam? I've got rehearsal that evening but it's downtown, so I might still be able to make it. If I do, I hope ita won't mind my having a Cheerwine in her honor, rather than a beer.
I'm sitting in a rest stop on the PA turnpike crying. I'm so glad everyone is posting and I hate the reason for it. I still can't believe it. I've been thinking of her while driving, and every once in a while it hits me that she's really gone. I had things to tell her.
I called my DH and told him as soon as I could. And of course my son saw me crying this morning and gave me a big hug and he is a huge Firefly fan so he said "Your friend the moon girl?"
Which is the least ita description ever, and yet also true.
It's like a huge chunk of the Internet just died. If you guys hadn't all clearly heard the same news or experienced it, I would be trying to disbelieve it.
