Today we remember DXMachina on his birthday. Ed was such a good friend to so many. I think of him often and miss him.

'Our Mrs. Reynolds'
A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

ita, you are the reason this thread exists, and the reason this place exists in our lives. On your birthday, and on so many days, we are beyond grateful for the time we had together.
That's true, he did set this up. He was a funny guy...I COMM'ed him often. But we didn't get to know each other well. I have spent too much time in my life waiting for the perfect moment, permission or something...I'm not sure what. But it didn't show up.
My father and my godfather were both Professors of Chemistry and baseball fans, and Ed reminded me so much of them that I felt like he was already family. We only met a couple of times at F2Fs, but he was always so sweet to me.
I edited my post to clarify that today is the day ita was born into this world, and for this we are grateful.
I miss them both, sometimes unexpectedly with a pang, and sometimes with a fond smile. I'm glad I knew them here, and had the chance to meet Ed. It's a lingering regret I never got to meet ita.
I did not know non-board ita well. We met 3 times. My IRL impression of her was as a far warmer, and much shyer person. Then again, in person she gave me hugs and encouragement, while on the board I might be challenged sharply. I miss both!

ita was all of those things, in my experience. Damn, I miss her.
Yes, Cass. Totally.
I guess today is the 9th anniversary. Much as I hate FB sometimes, it does keep me connected to dates when I seldom do better than time of year, maybe. Seems so long and so short, all at once.
