Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

And I bet we could have convinced her to make a sexy politicians subsite, too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

When you're right, you're right.

Eta I had to come doublecheck my apostrophe usage. This morning I was convinced I'd typed "your" in this post.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dammit. She needed to see this.

And she would have loved this bit of shade:

Hollywood costume parties sound awesome, but some people, Beyonce included, don't have the courtesy to attend a party at Warner Bros. as heroes from the DC universe. I mean, make it studio appropriate, people.

Our wings are not tired.

So the post in Press prompted me to skim through last year's good riddance thread. And there she was. Pain with a side of laughter. There are so many threads with unread posts. I plan to read them when I can knowing there will be these mixed emotions.

Does anyone know if ita's family has set up a scholarship yet? I looked back through the thread but couldn't find any specifics. I'm thinking about my year-end giving plans, and I would really love to make a donation in her name.

As of last month, they had not. I wrote to Moji to apologize for the lack of movement on the comic books, and she said they hadn't done anything either. I think we're all still in stasis.

Thanks, Polgara. Totally understandable, of course.

So I've been sloooooooooowly going through ita's comic books, looking for the ones worth selling, and so far the two boxes I've hit have contained just the recent stuff, past 10-15 years or so, not really worth anything according to eBay. I was thinking of donating them to a children's hospital or a literacy center (if they'd have them), but I know there are a lot of comic collectors here and I didn't want to offend anyone by giving them away before offering them up here to anyone that might want them.

So, any takers? So far it's mostly X-Men related series (primarily Ultimate X-Men).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Them going to one of those sorts of organizations sounds great to me, but then again I'm not much of an X-Men fan.
