Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Maria, thanks for the idea. I've been having a hard time deciding to switch, also, but today is the 13th anniversary of my mother's passing. If I can find a picture of her on my back-up drive, I'll put that one up.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, I thought about changing at one week, or two. But then I figured I'd wait til I had something specific I wanted to change to. Which I do have now, but my general inertia has extended things another couple of weeks.

Oh! But somebody at the dog park asked what it was about just the other day, because she had seen it from me but also from another totally unconnected friend. That felt really neat, to see yet more evidence of how far and wide she is remembered.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thank you all for your input. I don't feel so weird for leaving it up.

Our wings are not tired.

I changed on Valentine's Day to my dad's picture because it was his birthday. I always have his picture on his birthday. Maybe I will start to wear pink gingham on ita's birthday.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I don't want anyone to feel bad about keeping or changing it. We are still going to remember her in all our own ways.

Our wings are not tired.

It is absolutely a whatever feels right thing, just as was changing it in the first place. For some it hurt more to change to pink. We all mourn in our own ways.

Compassionately intolerant

I'm with Strix, nothing has demanded a change, yet, so the gingham's still there.

This is my thinking.

Somehow, it was so comforting to see a line of pink gingham squares when we all had them up.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Yes, it was. I loved it.

I'm finally caught up to date on SPN, and although I still enjoy it, it is bittersweet.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I'm wearing a pink gingham dress to work today (which I bought in honor of ita a few weeks ago, but hadn't worn yet), which is definitely helping me get through the day. After two back-to-back twelve-plus hour days, the only things that got me to work at 6:45 this morning were a freezing cold shower and the pink gingham dress.
