I also got my package, Lee. Thank you.
(And because I suck, I have not sent yours yet, but I haven't actually forgotten this time.)

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

Quick Hivemind question: I got one of ita's SPN shirts. I love it as a shirt, love it MUCH MORE as a keepsake, but I need some opinions.
It fits me, except the neck is too tight. I've never been able to wear ANYTHING too tight around the neck -- tees, turtlenecks, chokers, scarves -- I think I was strangled in a former life.
Would it be sacrilegious for me to neatly cut the neck wider? Would you guys mind? Do you think ita would disapprove?
I want to be able to wear the shirt when I need to channel ita's kickassedness, and in her memory, but I have been really wrestling with whether or not to do this, so I'm going to let the Buffistas tell me what I should do. I'm in a real dilemma.
Thanks, all.
It's yours now. Do what you want with it.
That's what ita would say, I'm sure. It's yours now. The important thing is what it means to you.
Do what you need to to be able to use it, Strix. Alter it, add ruffles, whatever.
ita had Jilli alter her an Iron Man shirt. I think she'd be just fine with it.
Exactly what I was thinking of.
I'm sure ita would approve, Strix. Are you (or someone you know) able to sew a new hem for the collar? That would probably make it comfier and more durable.
Thanks, guys! I know someone who can hem it, sure.
I feel better now; it's a silly thing, but I really was having an ethical quandary because of it.
Not only am I sure that if ita herself had handed you that shirt, she would want you to make the alteration so it fits you, but my own opinion is that if there is something that will make it wearable for you, I want you to do it. Better to wear the shirt and channel her kickassery than to leave it collecting dust.
