ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I'd love to come, but the travel cost is prohibitive. Even if the accommodations would be inexpensive, the plane ticket wouldn't be.

But, if we could arrange a skype time or some such, it would be fun to participate remotely.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I really want to go, but it's my 40th on the 17th, & there already have been noises about a big party. I'll keep it in mind, though.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I finally got paid and can contribute to the fund - is it still open? Can one of you point me in the right direction?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

OK, I just realized that a house share would mean having a kitchen, which would mean I could actually serve dumplings or Deconstructed Hot Pockets in a Doritos Glaze or something to you lovely people. Even more incentive to make sure I make it down there.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Deconstructed Hot Pockets in a Doritos Glaze

I don't know what the heck this is, but I want it.

I stayed at the hostel in Santa Monica last year on my way down to Joshua Tree and on my way back up. It's 2 blocks away from the ocean, it has 6 or 7 floors, was custom built for hostelling, just had a 2M$ upgrade, meeting rooms, kitchen, refrigerators, I believe private or semi private rooms. A bunk in the women's dorm was something like 30 bucks iirc. It might have been $45? Not remembering, but one hostel was a little more expensive, it might have been this one. There's a parking garage across the street. If all you require is a safe place to sleep at night, a kitchen to stash perishables in and to cook when you don't want to go out, and good location, it's great. Free WiFi, every bunk has its own reading light and charging station, and it's completely ADA accessible. It's filled with typical friendly travelers from all over the world, at every age. The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

There's an image set floating around Tumblr of Jason Momoa as The Crow, and I'm torn between appreciating it and thinking "Dammit, ita would LOVE this".

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I had the same thought, Jilli. It still feels utterly surreal.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.
