I have to admit, the picture of ita's parents made me choke up. They still looked stunned.

ita's thread
A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.
I donated some money to Women Who Code and told them it was in memory of a friend at the request of her parents. They responded (!) and asked if I'd be willing to share ita's parent's e-mail with them so they could thank them and offer their condolences. Yay/nay?
ETA: Not that I have it, just concerned with privacy issues and sensitive subjects.
Thanks for sharing everything.
Yeah, Sail, I was wondering about that, too, even though I can't contribute till next week.
Lee, thank you for posting the pictures of all the items up for grabs. I didn't know her well enough to take anything, but it was really nice to see things and to imagine them scattering around the world to be beloved by someone new. Thank you also for taking and posting such fabulous pictures of the brunch! The second picture of Allyson and the baby is an especially beautiful picture.
I had a lot of help with the picture taking--my camera got passed arou d a bit, and I know the Allyson pictures with the baby were from Kristen.
If it was me, I would give ita's parents the organization's contact info so that they can be in touch when they choose.
Having worked for more than one association, I'd hate for them to end up on a development list unsolicited.
Memorial gifts can spark annual requests. Some folks are glad of that. Some are not.

Yeah, that's what I'm mostly worried about from the organization. On the other hand, the Anderson's may not be ready interact with anyone at that level right now. I want to be as respectful of that as possible.
Moji is going to contact them when they get back to Jamaica this week. They are pretty raw right now.
That's exactly what I was wondering. Thanks for clarifying that for me, Allyson.
