'Objects In Space'

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Polgera, if there is anything that seems like it needs a gothy home, please send it my way.

You all have my love and support. Please take care of yourselves.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I feel selfish for asking, but I would dearly love a tiny keepsake. I don't need anything to remember her by, because how could I forget, but really, anything tiny -- a rock, a book, a magnet. I'd pay postage.

We had so many conversations about Octavia Butler, and she was the only person I'd met that really dug the hell out of her.

But I absolutely don't want to cause anyone any bother, because this is hard enough.

Goddamit, I'm all fucking tearing up again.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I never had much personal communication with ita, so I don't need a keepsake. I will remember her; my new tagline is in her honor.

Our wings are not tired.

Toddson, that's beautiful.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

"Nothing's forgotten. Nothing is ever forgotten." One of the first evenings I posted rather than lurking, and it was because ita and someone else were talking about former fandoms. Robin of Sherwood was mentioned, and I took the opportunity. ita shushed everybody else for a minute so she could think about the quote I posted.

Thank you, Toddson, for reminding me.

I would love a tiny keepsake--rock, as someone said, or a sketch.

In that vein, I do love that Io9's Odeck has locked her column in memoriam. I know that LJs used to go on pretty indefinitely, but I think the limit now is inactive two years and LJ deletes. I think Tumblrs just sail on forever, but I don't know about Deviant Art. I'm hoping somebody has passwords or admin for LJ and Deviant Art. It would be wonderful to lock those accounts as memorials, so that people who discover her art, either in a fic rec, or just stumbling across it, would be able to know why she stopped posting, and her work would still be accessible.

I provided H with two names and email addresses some time ago. Those two people between them have passwords for my accounts here, at DW, both LJs, and Ao3. Maybe ita did the same?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

So glad to hear the packing up is easier than expected.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Can't you get an LJ put in memorial status?

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Yeah, I'm not sure how it's done, but that was done for thamiris [link]

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Glad the packing isn't as wrenching as feared.
