Supernatural 3: Family don't end with blood

Amy, I tried a couple of episodes of Walker, when it premiered, but I didn't like it.
One of the reasons I've kept watching The Winchesters, is to see how they square the John/Mary origin story they're now telling, with the events of S4.E3, "In the Beginning," and S5.E13, "The Song Remains the Same."
I don't know if it is any good or not, tbh. It is nowhere as good as Supernatural, and the music has disappointed (when it should be terrific, so I'm guessing it is a budget issue). I am fond of the John and Mary characters, so I'm a little more invested than I ought to be.
I hadn't been watching The Winchesters because I was confused by the "prequel" aspect and then how different it was from what had been established on the show. But from the reactions of Tumblr it's like AU/fix it fanfic type of thing, kind of . So I decided to give it a shot and so far I'm enjoying it, I've seen the first 2 episodes especially if I'm just looking at it as an alternate universe type thing.
The hair whip thing in The Winchesters was absolutely OTT and cheesy but I have to say I'm not mad at it at all.
I saw that! All on the same day, apparently. He's, as he said, lucky to be alive.
Supernatural actor news --- DJ Qualls (Garth) and Ty Olsson (Benny) are engaged. They first met at a SPN convention they were both at and they clicked and became friends and more and now are engaged! It's really sweet.

The Queen of Hell and God are getting married. Supernatural alums Ruth Connell and Rob Benedict are officially engaged.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, Benedict opened up about the happy news, revealing that the couple secretly made plans to tie the knot at the start of 2024.
“We got engaged earlier in the year, right before we welcomed our daughter Margaret into the world,” Benedict told the outlet. “The ring was designed by New York designer Sophie Ratner.”
Benedict, 54, and Connell, 45, both appeared in several seasons of the long-running CW series, as Chuck Shurley, aka God in disguise, and Rowena MacLeod, a witch and the mother of Mark Sheppard’s Crowley.
I am finally going to finish watching the series! I think I found about where I stopped, which was end of Season 8, so I'm starting with Season 9, which, hilariously, means I have... seven more seasons to watch! So, basically, an entire series. Man, for a show that started out with whether we'd get a next season being anyone's guess, it sure did grow some long-ass legs!
NO. Wait, that's not right. I remember The Darkness and Amara, which was Season 11. I just found my last comment, so I'm going to see whether I can find the episode it refers to. But, weirdly, I don't remember this Season 9 stuff at all. I wonder if I skipped a season somewhere? Huh.
15 seasons. I know it happened but it's still unbelievable. I remember waaaay back when having a dream that I was watching the 10th season (ish, probably a round number like that though) and being pretty sure that would never happen. Fairly certain that the 10th season we got was nothing like the one in my dream...
I had to look up season 9 on Wikipedia (it is hilarious that I can do that!). Looks heavy on angels which is rarely makes for my favorite stories. Some of the episodes are coming back to me as I skim the summaries. Just not that memorable on the whole, I think, although I wanna say Abaddon was a good villain? Nothing concrete to base that on, just vibes. There were several seasons that were, to my mind, overall lackluster but had a couple of really good episodes, I can't endorse skipping entirely but if you start watching an episode and it feels familiar probably it's okay to move to the next one? It's not like all the little plot details you may have forgotten entirely make sense in the fullness of time...
