Apparently there is a going to be a SPN prequel focusing on John and Mary and Jensen Ackles and his wife are involved somehow and Jared found out via Twitter ..tweeted something like Et tu Brute and then deleted that
I'm not sure exactly what is going on I just found a bunch of posts about this on Tumblr
I guess the prequel will be narrated by Dean and ...I stopped watching but Mary and John only got together because of Cupid?
Deadline has coverage of the Supernatural prequel project here: [link]
Jensen, Danneel, and Robbie Thompson have it in development at The CW. I have my doubts about it coming to fruition, but I'd like to see it. Over the course of the series, the writers turned John from a gruff, broken-hearted guy who was admittedly obsessed with his wife's supernatural death, into an abusive asshole. I'd like to see him get a little redemption.
Jared made three tweets, in which he didn't hide his upset. Two are still standing as of right now. First, Jensen tweeted out a link to the Deadline article, here: [link]
Here [link] Jared retweeted Jensen, adding:
"Dude. Happy for you.
Wish I heard about this some way other than Twitter.
I’m excited to watch, but bummed that Sam Winchester had no involvement whatsoever."
A fan replied to Jared here [link] saying:
"this has GOTTA be a bad joke hello @jarpad
@JensenAckles this ain’t it sirs we’re freaking out"
Jared retweeted that fan here [link] and added the following:
"No.
It’s not.
This is the first I’ve heard about it.
I’m gutted."
The tweet that Jared did delete last night, was in reply to Robbie Thompson, who had also retweeted the Deadline article. It read:
"@rthompson1138
Et tu brute??
Wow.
What a truly awful thing you've done.
#Bravo you coward."
This post at Primetimer.com has screenshots of Jared's three tweets, including the deleted "Et tu brute" one: [link]
I feel bad for Jared, but I also feel like maybe Jensen has his reasons for developing this series without him, and for not letting him know the announcement was coming.
I don't usually miss that we can't post images here, but every once in a while, it would make life easier.
Today, thus far, Jared has added to his tweets. About 3 hours ago, he tweeted [link] :
"Hey world.
Thank you for the love.
Please PLEASE don’t send any hate or threats.
I care deeply about everybody involved and would be in true misery if any of them were harmed or threatened."
About a half an hour ago, he added [link] :
"@JensenAckles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good.
The show is early in the process with miles to go.
We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps.
Bumps don’t stop us.
Once brothers, always brothers.
#spnfamily"
Shortly after, Jensen retweeted Jared's "we had a great talk" tweet and added [link] :
"Love you @jarpad …
Miss these talks. I forgot how much face time we always used to get. And I miss that too. I know you’re busy…as am I, but you’re still my brother. I miss you, pal.
I've gone from feeling slightly bad he didn't get a heads up prior to the announcement, to the point where I think I completely understand why Jensen kept mum until Deadline published the news.
I've been following the Tumblr drama...some of which is relying shat has happened on Twitter.
There are some very anti Jared people on there but also some who ate very pro Jared and now are mad at Jensen for this.
And people who are talking about how Jared treated ppl on set or things like that.
Then there are the people who just don't like the prequel idea about Mary and John and want something else
Man, the horse is dead. Stop flogging it. Let it exist in peace and memory. Stop trying to squeeze another dime out of the franchise.
My two cents, anyway.
I think I’m with you Beverly.

The horse has been dead since season 7, but the lure of the filthy lucre is strong.
I am amused by all the anniversary of the first airing of SPN that has been occurring.
I've been watching MASH since my dad died, and Mike Farrell (playing B.J.) was driving me crazy until I realized he reminded me of Padalecki. Same tall, lanky frame, same smile, same steady kindness of Sam, even the voice -- or maybe the delivery -- is really similar.
