They didn't even wait a few episodes to make the New and Improved Even Bigger Evil seem cheap and small?

So, the eruption of primordial darkness that even God was only able to seal away from the universe rather than abolish results in a smoky cloud that looks like a poorly-made copy of the Season 3 opener, and turns a few people in the immediate area into Croatoan zombies. Color me unimpressed.

I was mystified as to why no on turned to the pretty cop (whose makeup never ever got smeared) who had a large wound and asked if she was bitten or had been bled onto. Dean was charging about ready to do away with the baby's father, but it never occurred to him that she could have been infected?

They missed an opportunity to call back to the period when Sam was soulless and still walking around. Of course, if the writers don't remember previous seasons, why should the characters?

Oh geez - Amazon Deal of the Day is the first 9 seasons of Supernatural - Blu ray $105.99 or DVD $89.99.

That seems like a really great deal. I'm so torn!
