'Out Of Gas'

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2014: so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good bye...

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering.

Buh bye, 2014.

Compassionately intolerant

Congrats, Kate!

So, I woke up with a cold this morning but was still able to gut it out and complete my year-end cleaning ritual.

Well, for all values of 'complete' that include the no-dirty dishes, laundry or rubbish left in the house rule being stretched to the last two loads of laundry being in the machines...and the dishwasher not being totally finished.

I did, however, wash Cagney and myself, stuff the fridge with good food and push everything that needs sorting/mending/ending into one room.

The next four days will be a leisurely stroll through filing, donating and organizing. I'm stoked!

2014 was a very good year for me. I had no major illnesses, Cagney was healthy, I took great strides toward healing my relationship with money, I loved my work and my friends and significantly shifted my attitude and perspective toward greater happiness than I've ever known.

My deepest wish is for all of you to find 2015 your happiest and healthiest year yet. Much love!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It's been a good year for me, overall. The highlight, of course, was a long-anticipated trip to Ireland with my good friend Katie. It was wonderful and I'm glad we chose to drive everywhere; despite getting lost a couple times, we saw lovely things we'd never have found riding a train. I'd go back to Ireland in a heartbeat, and someday I will! Alas, not long after returning from that trip, I slipped into a rather serious depression. After a few months I realized how bad it was getting and found a new therapist and a new doctor, and after some adventures with new meds, I've finally found an antidepressant that works for me. I'm still climbing out of it, and still dealing with some of the things I let slide during it, but I almost feel back to normal now. Normal for me, anyway. I'm looking forward to a new year in which I might actually keep some of those old resolutions for a change. Except the one about jogging. That's probably never gonna happen.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

LUCKY FUTURE KATE BABY!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Congratulations, Kate & M & Rose!

So, took my truck to the mechanic to get my busted defroster/heater looked at. It's a $90 part that requires tearing apart the whole dashboard to replace, so almost $900 for the repair. Apparently, the PTB are under the impression that doubling my Discover card balance in the space of a week and a half (in addition to paying for my truck being towed, I also had to pay my truck's registration and buy contacts this week!) is an awesome plan. They've had it since Monday and I still don't have it back so I made my excuses to the couple of hostesses who invited me to parties for tonight. I'm just hunkering down at home, riding out the storm. Well, as much as I'd hoped to get my credit cards paid down/paid off, I'm thankful that I have them. May they get less of a workout in '15!

And as always, thanks and love to all of you wonderful, supportive people. Best of Luck and Love to all of us in the New Year!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm glad you are climbing, Zen. Yay Ireland!

I keep thinking I'll do a big old introspective ramble-y post, but maybe it'll suffice to say it's been a pretty good year in MinusTeeLand with steady employment and not much in the way of disaster and I'm well positioned for a solid rebuilding year in 2015 (as I feel like I say every year, doesn't make it not true)

Cheers!

I like that, -t, a Rebuilding Year.

I'm still working, and my job's not going to Poland anymore. (Though I will have to start acting a little more professional due to being moved to a desk much closer to the GM's office; it won't actually kill me, and might be good for me to straighten up a bit). Back in school as of Jan 5. Still in reasonably good health, in a perfectly pleasant home. Would like to be in a relationship, but even without one, still in possession of many good friends. Really, a perfectly good existence (from which to begin rebuilding).

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Congratulations, Kate, Mark, and Rose! Happy 2015, everybody!

hip deep in pie

Congrats Kate!

It seems I forgot to subscribe to this thread. I wondered where it was...whoops!

Brenda! Your gift arrived! I love the cookbook! And Oz loved his toy. I don't know what kind of catnip was in it, but within minutes he was tearing across the living room with it. Thanks so much!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Congrats Kate!

2014 was a pretty good year for us. The highlight was our trip to London and Dublin , centered around Worldcon.
