All the Elsas I saw had winter coats on over their costumes. But the Olafs looked nice and warm!
A couple of people mistook me for Elsa. One person recognized the Mother of Dragons, Stormborn, Queen of the Andals and the First Men. My dragon kept falling off, though. [link]
Nobody recognized Dylan as Asterix, but he looked AWESOME - the helmet and belt came out really great, I thought. [link]
I didn't get a good picture of Aeryn because she had DH carrying her all night.
In addition to LSD being swamped [link] the haunted house attraction on Navy Pier is sinking [link] . Setup for Nick Wallenda's highwire over the river continued though.
Seems to have topped out at a whopping 21. I have several pieces left, but not that much, actually. I'll leave the light on until 8:30p, but I kind of hope they're done - I want SOME leftovers. That's fair.
I think we got 30-ish. We went through the entire bag of snickers (which was about 18 pieces), and maybe half the bag of M&Ms. (The Milky Ways were on the bottom of the bowl, because they're my favorite, so I wanted them to go last. Yes, I am that selfish.)
Don't know how I double-posted that, but Halloween candy, while important, isn't important enough for 2 duplicate posts.
I just got 6 more. I have one Twix left now. Lights out!
Was pretty much out of candy by 7:00. I'm pretty damned generous, but had a lot of large groups. Especially of tiny tots who just kill me. There was a homemade mummy costume that was really good- you couldn't see her face until right up close, which was really creepy. And lots of wings and wee sparkly dragons. Oh and a 11ish year old werewolf halfway between wolf and human form, her explanation. She was with the wee sparkly (and ROOOARing) dragon and a slightly bewildered title turtle.
Karen hung out on the porch for the end(just back from work) and then we talked while we waited for Sarah and Joe to come over to reveal their costumes. They go all in. Sarah was Rosie from the Bounty commercials and Joe was Mr.Whipple of " don't squeeze the Charming!" Sarah made custom labels to resemble vintage packaging identical to the real ones!
I thought I was closing at work so I didn't candy. My front proch light is burned out anyway, but I think by the time I got home most of the trick or treating was done because I didn't see or here anyone.
It was really really slow today and I think being a Halloween Friday there's more stuff going on and instead of going to buy things they are either doing last minute shopping or getting ready for parties.
I've gotten maybe 15 kids and the vat o' candy is almost empty.
The girl who took my money at the Wendy's drive-through said she was there until 2am and had three kids. She seemed unhappy about it. I'm thinking about taking the remaining candy over there and handing it to her through the window for her kids.
Just had my first Trick or Treaters, a polite group of tween boys. One football player, one in a tux, and one zombie. All of them tried not to stare at my fangs.
