I just got shot this morning with the flu, and K gets misted tomorrow. Echoing flea, my DH is on his own and if he doesn't arrange a vaccine for himself and gets the flu I will adjust my sympathy accordingly.

Bonny, if you are around, insent!

K and I got flu shots yesterday and the twins had flu shot for G and mist for N two weeks ago. I feel like I'm in the middle of onerous task month and that is definitely an onerous task.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

As of Friday, with my actual doctor visit/check-up, to go over the mammo and the blood draw results, I will be done with onerous medical tasks, except for finding a new gyno and getting my speculum on (which I am grumpy about, because I feel like I have had enough medical stuff that's not fun happen to my vagina and lady parts that I should get a lifetime pass on the whole thing.)

My twins are four now, and this is the first year they understood and remembered that shots hurt (they got their flu shot in August).

This morning I mentioned that I was getting a flu shot at the office and they both burst into tears. I thought it was an impressive display of empathy for their poor old father, but when my wife said "Don't worry, it's not going to hurt you, it's only Daddy getting the shot" they brightened up immediately and said "Be brave, Daddy!" The gap between empathy and Schadenfreude can be quite narrow.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

We get free flu shots at work, but always late in the flu season (November 6 this year), so I spend a month wondering if I should just go get one earlier. I never do, but I always wonder.

G. was pretty worried about me getting a shot yesterday. She is actually heartbreaking to take to get a shot. She gets very teary then she looks at the nurse who gives the shot and says, "Be careful! PLEASE be careful."

She does this for IVs and blood draws also.

Big HA for Rick, and awww for Grace.

It's funny because it's true.

Aww, poor Grace.

My kids are usually good about getting shots. Isaac makes a scene at home but puts on a brave face at the doctor's office, and Franny is just super stoic. She took the HPV vaccine without a tear or a yelp. Impressed the nurse.

Apropos of nothing on this thread today, a Good Wife observation:

In Good Wife this season, one of the character takes 'charmingly quirky' (scare quotes deliberate) to such an extreme that I'm wondering if the writers are planning a later reveal of a brain tumor, or if they really think some of this is not a serious clinical symptom (more from the episode before the latest than from this one).

I think that is vague enough to be nonspoilery, while being clear to any one who watched the last two episodes. But I spoiler fonted anyway, just in case.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope that is not where they are going, Typo. I love that she is good at her job because of how odd she is rather than in spite of it, I'd hate for that to become pathology.
