If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Huh. When I had shoot up the cat duty there was no dosing. Seems like an important detail.

If the needles provided by owner, generally 1 tick mark= 1 unit. For example, I have 3/10cc syringes. They contain 30 units and are marked as such. It's a teeny amount. I'd aim low (the worst case effects aren't as dangerous short term as too high. Is in the immediate.)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Theodosia, if nothing else, call the local emergency vet and ask. They should able to tell you what to do until you can reach the regular vet or the owner. Err on the side of less, not more, and keep an eye on the cat.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Orange caps, right?

I talked to Animal poison control people, and the consensus is that I overdosed him somewhat. (In my defense, I was very tired.) In order not to risk killing my friend's cat, I'm going to take him into the emergency vet....

I really should have investigated more before dosing, but I thought the marking were for 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and so on. Because I'm stupid.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I cannot help with cat dosage.

My "butcher CSA" is changing their program from site pick-up to delivery to my door. On the one hand, Box o' Meat delivered to me, yay! On the other, I no longer have an excuse to go have a beer with my parents at the really rather nice brewpub with the tasty selection but not exactly convenient location where I was picking up said Box o' Meat. Well, I won't when I get the official notification that I've been switched over, anyway. Better enjoy it while it lasts, I guess

Theo, sounds like the directions were unclear, and you're a good and responsible friend to take the cat to the vet.

Punishingly Intricate

Your friend should have left better instructions, Theo. You are not stupid!

Emergency vet sounds like the prudent course. I hope it turns out to be no big deal.

Not a stupid mistake, Theo. Just a mistake. How syringes are marked is not basic knowledge that everyone just picks up by osmosis, and those instructions do not sound clear.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, it sounds like that was very unclear and you are not stupid! You're a good friend.
