Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sorry, Suzi. That's hard.

Connie, I've had a couple of nights all alone in my house, and it is weird! But not as weird as I thought it would be. (And I don't even share a bathroom with my mother -- our apartments are separate.) This is potentially literally the only time I've been the only person in a building overnight, since mostly I've lived in apartment buildings.

Did the airport close?

No, but there were a lot of delays. The main airport news was the man who was arrested for the second time for trying to take a gun through a checkpoint. He was quoted as saying "I'm as baffled as you are" as to why he had the gun. He also said something cryptic about a problem with squirrels.

Because books.

Oh, Suzi, I'm so sorry.

I had the impression that the squirrel problem was at his destination, but who knows?

I'm sorry, Suzi.

Sanded and primed. I hate primer. Not as much as plaster. And now it is raining, so it might not be dry bough until tomorrow to paint. [link]

Sigh, I guess I could start cleaning upstairs.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Oh, UPS, you dicks. I work at home all day, in full view of the front door. And yet I got an email notification that a package was delivered half an hour ago, and left at the side door. Which is interesting, since we don't HAVE a side door.

It was at the neighbors' side door, which I can *almost* forgive, because these are the people who get a UPS delivery almost every day, so if it was the regular driver, he probably assumed it was theirs (AND the wife has the same first name as me). And yet that's no excuse for not reading the fucking address correctly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Suzi, I'm sorry for your loss.

Just got one of the weirdly aggressive recruiter calls. Like, if they're snippy enough, suddenly I will be an Alfresco developer who wants to move to New York. I explained to him I'll do almost anything Alfresco wise other than code, and after drilling that flat he asks if I want to move to New York.

There's a reason people are different from OCR systems.

After getting some feedback today on what expectations are going to be post-reorg, I'm pretty sure I need to find a new job. So I've got that going for me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Even the word "expectations" sounds terrifying.
