Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am off today, but may do some work anyway, depending on how much people are on email. Good times.

My cat only wants to get under the covers with me at 6:15 AM on a workday. Days I'm sleeping in he doesn't give a damn, only when he can wake me 30-45 minutes before the alarm does he paw sweetly at the covers so he can snuggle.

Happy birthdays to megan walker and Cash!

Last week when I was sick my cat spent nearly every possible moment snuggling with me. He's cuddlesome, but not usually that cuddlesome. Now I'm pretty much better and he's back to his usual schedule (an hour of lap time followed by four hours of grooming and napping elsewhere). It's nice that he cares, to the extent that cats can care. Or maybe he was all "Mmmmmm, feverlicious!" and now that's over.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Um, I just got a package delivered by the USPS. I'm a little confused (but happy to have the package). There was also mail in the box, and I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't left over from Saturday (ISTR bringing in Saturday's mail around dinnertime, and it was only 1 piece of junk mail).

I even looked up whether the USPS was delivering today, because I thought maybe Columbus Day was rescinded as a mail holiday, but no -- everything says no mail today.

WHAT IS HAPPENING.

So an entire 1'x9' panel of plaster came down.

Wasn't planning for that.

Eeep.

Silent Auction is over, it went fairly well. But there was drama between some of the organizing team and certain folks aren't talking to other folks and I kinda want my co-chair to quit or maybe I'll be the one to step down. We didn't have drama other than the fact that she didn't talk with me all night other than quick one word answers to questions.

Whatever. We took in about $20k between registration and the auction. Netting that against our costs, we can give the team aboout $14k.

I still have a bunch of thank you notes to send out and organizing of stuff to do. But I'm burnt out at the moment. And I'm working today. After work I drive CJ to the airport. He is spending the week in SF with my dad.

What, just randomly? You were sitting at the breakfast table and *boom* rogue plaster panel? Weird.
