Mom headed out early this a.m. before I actually got up - I heard her moving around upstairs in the wee hours, but I didn't actually hear her leave, so I thought she was still here. She went back home to look after her dog. Continued ~ma will be welcome - I don't know yet if she's coming back here tonight.
When she's massively stressed, she goes into deep hermit mode for a few days. It's something she needs, but it's scary as hell for me - I made her promise to check in via text a few times a day.
Much ~ma for your mother, Anne.
Oh Anne. I hope that your parents seek medical intervention. So very scary. I've dealt with this type of mean before and it is horribly painful even when you know it is disease and not personal. Holding you in my heart.
I sense an Oprah Chai conspiracy. This Starbucks is ALSO out of it! Though at least they told me when I tried to order it. Wtf??
I had an email last night (legit, work email) from someone whose first name is Karlmarx.
I have a cooking question. I have an old slow cooker, and I should probably make better--any!--use of it. However, I leave the house at 8 and generally get home at 7. Should I get a new slow cooker with a timer or something? The current settings are Off, Low, High. Hubby used to use it, but he was home to keep an eye on it--and was a much better cook than I. Boy, it was great having a house husband.
I think if you're gone for that long, you might want a new one with a timer.
Most of my slow cooker recipes are 7-8 hours on low at the longest. With being gone 11 hours, a timer would make things easier and more do-able.
NB: I have been looking for the savory cheesecake recipe and can't find it. I will continue the search.
