Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yes! Solar eclipse in Iceland! It won't be total, but very very close to it. I would love to go with you! We must plan! My usual travelling companion will still be in school and may not have the money or time to go with me, and I'd rather not go alone.

The next (after 2015) total solar eclipse I can reasonably get to will be over North America on August 21, 2017. I can wait, but why?!?

Iceland is awesome! I hope to go back someday. Have fun with the eclipse! I hope everyone else travelling has great journeys, too.

I need to figure out where to go on vacation. Someplace rural and quiet.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm trying to figure out some day trips I can take. I think that Fallingwater is within reasonable day trip distance, but that requires better weather than we're supposed to be having for the next few days.

Michigan's upper peninsula is both, Tom. There's miles of Lake Superior coastline (and a bit on Lake Michigan and Lake Huron), loads of woods, some minor mountains, and the occasional farm. You could go on a driving tour of the lighthouses, or hike to dozens of waterfalls. If I was spending money on vacations and keeping it domestic, that's probably where I'd go. [link]

The insect life can get a bit intense, but otherwise it's terrific.

Yeah, I think that's the one I'm planning to see from exotic Salem, OR. Anyway, will notify y'all of what I find out when I look at Iceland trips again (I was okay with going alone, but with buffistas would be better!)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And I could wave at you from across the border! [link]

brillig

I want to take a trip where I don't have to worry about driving or car maintenance or things like that. Unfortunately, I would probably hate taking a tour group trip, much less couldn't afford it.

Our wings are not tired.

it is hard to distinguish an image search for hair that is pink, and hair worn by the singer Pink.

Though both fun to look at!

Otter Lake!! (I'm not there yet, but soon) Mountains, lakes, solitude or socializing. All good.

Eclipse in Iceland needs to be put on my list....
