My mom made it. And swore to never work with velvet again. I don't blame her.

I still love the dress. I wish it hadn't sustained water damage ( the crushage at knee level. Fucking baggage handlers left my luggage out in a downpour. )

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Pretty dress. That's fascinating, the body shape changes.

Good luck with the DMV, Connie. At some point I am going to have to convince the State of California that I hold the clear title to my Toyota (we paid off the loan years ago but the title was filed in Louisiana and I guess that information doesn't get shared?) in case I want to trade it in or sell it or something but I have not figured out where to start. I asked when I was doing all the paperwork to give my sister the Volvo, but the clerk (who was very helpful with all the Volvo stuff) had no idea either.

dcp - like Godfrey without the d? Or like Jeffrey but with a hard g?

Box o' Meat collected. I am so relieved to have eggs again. And this month's package includes goat chops and a whole duck! An embarrassment of riches.

a whole duck!

I'm picturing you opening the box and a live duck popping up and quacking, like "ta-da!!!"

Don't disabuse me of this notion.

brillig

Titles that pass through Louisiana are considered suspicious, so that's not helping either, I bet.

Wearing a top hat, Tep.

Really? Actually, I can see how that might be the case, but how inconvenient for me. ETA: um, the title thing. Although bringing a quacking duck into my already full of pets home might be challenging as well.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Like Jeffrey but with a hard G.

Others on the call, who already knew him, mostly called him Geff.

Okay, is it just me, or does a beesheep hybrid sound like something awful Margaret Atwood would have written into Oryx and Crake?

Tep, that's weird about the reunion. My all girls school does do one of the reunion events as girls only (happy hour, I think) but the mass and the main events (of COURSE there's a mass!) are not only co-ed but family friendly.

In other news, the kid that shot up the high school across the street in my parents' town has escaped custody. People are not pleased.

Never heard of this. Could be a special snowflake or cursed by his parents and deciding to own it.

I'm trying to be impartial because I once had an encounter with a Geoffrey who was thoroughly insulted when I addressed him as "Geoff" in an email once even though it was in his signature. Excuse me for not being psychic, Geoffrey!

I read on the news that he's already been recaptured.
