My BFF (who until recently was working part-time at minimum wage and last year got a full-time job at $10/hr) say we shouldn't raise the minimum wage because then prices will go up, and things are too expensive already. I didn't say anything because she's closer to this battle than I am, but I cannot believe raising the minimum wage to something approaching livable will make bread suddenly go up to 25$ a loaf or something. I'm just trying to avoid talking about it. She's a Democrat but she has some startlingly conservative views on some things. I think she's been living on very little money in the ass-end of Tennessee for way too long.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Crazy making. (Originally the browser thing, but the minimum wage thing too).
Met with a chripractor this morning and go back later today to discuss his recommended treatment. My face is doing pretty well today, I guess the meds are doing more than I realize. But I don't want to be on the meds forever, so if chiropractice intervention can relieve the pressure on the nerve, I'll give it a try.
On the homefront, we are still trying to work out the best way for all three of us to live in this two bedroom apartment. Luckily the living area is very open plan so we have shifted bookcases to give K-Bug a semi-private sleeping area. I just have no idea how to deal with KCD and B on this. Neither seems willing to talk with K-Bug to resolve whatever "issues" there are nor do they give me any difinitive reasons for whatever happened. I love my daughter, but long term, this is going to be a challenge. Once she finishes school, she should have the time to work full time and find her own place. Right now, earning that kind of money, plus paying off the debt she and D got into, isn't going to happen. Gah. Sorry. Got more ranty than I expected.
Timelies all!
Home now. Tired.
I have: gone to four meetings and answered thorny questions in three of them, printed my travel insurance card, made copies of my passport, made a copy of my International Certificate of Vaccination yellow card, gone to the bank, not murdered anyone who actually wants me to do work today, and sent vacation notices.
To do: Walgreens, packing.
Next job interview hoop = jumped through. Now I wait to see if I'm doing a phone interview at midnight tonight, because the next person to talk to is in Copenhagen.
My life is never boring. Very weird, but never boring.
Good luck Jilli, even if a midnight interview seems more than a little odd.
Back from surgery -- I took the scenic route -- and all is well, the bandaid is very small, but I have a couple stitches that have to be removed next week. The anaesthetic is finally wearing off and it isn't hurting too much.
I wish we'd hear from ita... I worry.
I'd rather have an interview at midnight than at 6am my time.

True. So that's 7? 8? AM their time?
ETA: The cats somehow keep changing this keyboard to the French keyboard. Argh!
9am, I think.
I think this is the last interview hoop I have to jump through. Apparently there's a lot of process you can bypass when the VP personally recruits you? But I'm not counting on anything until I have an offer letter.
