I have coworkers I actually have to tell "I cannot do this right now. You need to go away." And I get paid for that. As a volunteer, she's only due the time and brain space you deign to give her. Put that tiara on and OFF WITH HER HEAD. Or, you know, firm NO and a terse resignation offered above.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hell, I ignore people's emails for hours at work if it's not a good time.
Chiming in with the "QUIT THEM NOW, TEPPY" chorus. "Dear organizer person, I must resign the volunteer position of library coordinator, effective Sept. 15th. Best of luck in finding a replacement volunteer."
You don't owe her any reasons or explanations, just notice that you're not going to be doing this thing any more.

Same here, and it's great!
God, my back is totally spasming over the past couple days' frustrations. Swimming helps, but I'm not swimming right now!
Folks learn really quick that I say exactly what I mean. I do figure out who needs a softer delivery and who just needs the blunt, but ...
C&P Anne's post and send it.
In unexpectedly delightful news, my faux-son did the majority of the work cleaning out the storage shed. He's refused to take anything but gratitude for this, and I'm not arguing. This is his way of honoring Hubby.

Practicality says dump it all in savings. Whimsy says "Found money! Do something fun!" Debate has decided $1000 into savings. And I'm going to go buy a couple of yarn toys I've been mulling. And maybe an expensive skein of yarn or two. And the rest of that in the cash stash.

Come over at 10pm and pick up the books.
I APPLIED FOR A JOB!
It's middle salary point is more than $15K less than what I make now, but I have to get out of there.
Connie, seriously NICE and kudos to faux son for taking it on and delivering.
Msbelle, just remember to negotiate hardball, no matter how much you want out. No one else knows that. Know what your budget and lifestyle can take (hell, you probably know a helluva lot better than I do mine) and the promotion path.
It is for a job with a school district in the district offices.
