And my damned pool is still not open. Goddamnit.

Our wings are not tired.

I led Tom astray today. Over the river and through the woods where NONE of the roads were showing up on my GPS. It was like we were driving through fields with no roads. Didn't so much know where I was going, but knew I would run into something familiar at some point. And we did run into the Moose River Road, which was lovely and led us back home.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds so fun! Over the river and through the woods doesn't automatically get you to grandmother's house, huh? I guess you need a horse that knows the way for that.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My major task for the weekend was uploading my vacation photos to Flickr, and organizing them into albums. Done! Now I just have to post the links to my lj, and I'll be set.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I told my alma mater's fundraisers that they'll see more of my money when they get their act together on rape issues. They adopted a new, allegedly better sexual assault policy last week, so if nothing else vile comes to light I may consider giving them money when I'm employed again.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There was a crazy sunny thunderstorm this afternoon, and we could see a whole rainbow out the office windows! I don't know why rainbows are still so exciting, but they are.

For those not on the fb, the three latest are of the rail (porch and down the stairs.) [link]

brillig

A medical question that has puzzled me for years: I've started loom knitting, and the arthritis that lurks in my hands occasionally makes it difficult. I know I can take various things for this as long as I don't overdo it, but if I take painkillers and keep knitting, am I causing damage to my hands?

Got my hair cut. Pretty much the same cut I've been getting, but it's as supercute as always. I think I'm gonna skip swimming in the morning so it'll still be pretty and styled for work.

Came home to a package from Amazon UK that must be Skullduggery Pleasant, so I'll be tucked away reading for a while (first I need to finish the book I am currently reading which is thankfully the last in its series, and then it's all Skullduggery until I have to put the book in the freezer)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Came home to a package from Amazon UK that must be Skullduggery Pleasant

UNFAIR. SO SO UNFAIR.

...maybe I should check the shrubbery for an errant package.

then it's all Skullduggery until I have to put the book in the freezer

I seriously, 100% don't know how to brace myself for this one. I don't even know what I want to happen. (Except I desperately want Fergus to use magic in some badass way. The scene where he clicked his fingers and made a flame is still one of my absolute favorites.)
