So much TCB! An extra day really does help.
I feel stupid: what does TCB stand for? I know it means "onerous tasks", but what does the acronym mean?
I was not very onerous today. Walked the dogs, picked up Dad, went to a lovely brunch for my niece's 25th birthday, at which we had an honest-to-god pinata that my SIL had made. My younger niece is a star softball player, and when she hit the pinata the candy inside sprayed all over the yard. So fun.
Then I handed off Dad's dog to my brother (I hope they adjust okay!), took Dad home, went home, bought milk & kale, took a nap, went climbing, came home, ate a kale salad, & watched some SG-1. ("1969", so awesome.)
And now, sadly, my weekend is over. But today was a good day. And my oldest friend is going to be in town for two weeks starting next Monday, so we get to play.
TCB = Taking Care of Business.
It was on Elvis' belt buckle, and that's what the backup singers are singing behind Aretha on "Respect": "Take Care / TCB!"
Excellent! I should have guessed that, but I was stuck on fitting onerousness into it.

Harrumph. I understand why some places don't allow pictures with flash, because it can damage things, but places that don't allow pictures at all annoy me.
I'm up. Coffee and then start scrubbing, run to hardware and grocery. And it is supposed to be stupid hot again. And my mosquito bites itch.
Well out of three things yesterday, I managed one--to make the pound cake. Oh well. I have plenty of time on my hands for cleaning and whatnot today.
I can finish my coffe before I start anything, right?
I did close to nothing this weekend. I am very lazy.
Am I weird to be annoyed that my university is pushing really hard for faculty/staff donations? I understand that high level deans and presidents probably should give, but when we haven't had raises over 1-2 percent, and we have seen sharp increases in health care and parking, it seems like a lot to ask.
It is slightly better than when our school made and sold a cookbook, like women's groups used to. We lost so much money.
