Sigh. I suppose late afternoon on the Friday before Labor Day is asking a little much to have office staff available--or, in the case of the power company, enough staff so that the customer service line doesn't have eternal holds. At least I have proof the power company cashed the check.

Good one, Connie!
-t, have you done bleach? Although I guess that's more for when it's slow.
You know how I always talk about how I need to work at home? This weekend it is FOR REAL. I also want to go to the beach and then have to clean a lot in preparation for my family coming to stay.
I have not tried bleach! I tried baking soda & vinegar, and a plastic snake (apparently no clog in reach), and I'm about to go for whatever industrial chemicals I can find for sale. I might have bleach in the garage, though.
Also tried a plunger which I know has worked before but this time it seems like all the water I push down the drain comes right back out the overflow.
The drain has broken my spirit. Cleaning All the Things on pause until tomorrow.
At least the pig is tasty.
Happy birthday, Meara!
I spent this afternoon babysitting a friend's toddler. She's a delightful kid. She played happily for a while, than asked for me to read her a book, then conked out for a nap until just about the time her mom got home. No tears, no whining.
It was called Boink N' Oink.
HMOG.
Or maybe in this case, MHOG. (sorry not sorry)
Ha!
-t, the bleach is good for maintenance, but maybe not any better than baking soda and vinegar.
Hey, just having something different to try was worthwhile. I secretly suspect that I'm going to have replace some pipes to really solve the problem, so whatever I can try before going down that road is good.
-t thanks for the percentage and the explanation - I don't know that I understand it but at least I know the formula for next time!
