Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good one, Connie!

-t, have you done bleach? Although I guess that's more for when it's slow.

You know how I always talk about how I need to work at home? This weekend it is FOR REAL. I also want to go to the beach and then have to clean a lot in preparation for my family coming to stay.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have not tried bleach! I tried baking soda & vinegar, and a plastic snake (apparently no clog in reach), and I'm about to go for whatever industrial chemicals I can find for sale. I might have bleach in the garage, though.

Also tried a plunger which I know has worked before but this time it seems like all the water I push down the drain comes right back out the overflow.

The drain has broken my spirit. Cleaning All the Things on pause until tomorrow.

At least the pig is tasty.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Meara!

I spent this afternoon babysitting a friend's toddler. She's a delightful kid. She played happily for a while, than asked for me to read her a book, then conked out for a nap until just about the time her mom got home. No tears, no whining.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

It was called Boink N' Oink.

HMOG.

Or maybe in this case, MHOG. (sorry not sorry)

Ha!

-t, the bleach is good for maintenance, but maybe not any better than baking soda and vinegar.

Hey, just having something different to try was worthwhile. I secretly suspect that I'm going to have replace some pipes to really solve the problem, so whatever I can try before going down that road is good.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

-t thanks for the percentage and the explanation - I don't know that I understand it but at least I know the formula for next time!

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I think (hope) I might be PMSing: had a whopping total of two volunteers the other day, so decided to do simple projects, especially since I know the one guy has a bad back.

One of them killed one of my gourd vines, like, all the way down to the ground. Just an hour after I discovered that we had one birdhouse gourd that was about two feet long and texted the picture to the intern who built the arbor and planted the gourd seedlings.

I love my volunteers, and heavily rely on them, but, hey seus, when the numbers get low and I resort to projects more appropriate to small numbers, I remember why sometimes it's not worth it and mulching is the relatively safest task (and even that is fraught with danger).
