When I first left home I shared a house with two other guys. One day I locked myself out while everyone else was at work. One of them had left his bedroom window slightly ajar, I just had to push through a short hedge underneath to reach it. Or so I thought, until I did so and my knees discovered there was a row of cactus behind the hedge.

That's some pretty clever home security, bt. Ouch.
Suzi, let me know if you want some Cake Boss stuff. We just had our employee sample sale on Friday and there's a good chance some stuff will go on even deeper discount tomorrow. I don't know thing one about cake decorating, but if you give me tool names or descriptions I'd be happy to look for whatever.
Ouch!
I used to lock myself out more than I do now. I got really skilled at unscrewing a doorframe enough to open the door with a credit card. My current house does not have that type of door ( I think it is more common with inner apartment doors. Luckily my neighbor is always home, and I just don't lock my inner door.
Finally put my bike back up on the stand and did a tiny bit of maintenance. I do not have the chain lubricant I thought I did, so it'll probably stay up on the stand until I get some, but just sitting around not being touched for a long time appears not to have hurt it much. Yay.
So the funeral is tomorrow, which was sooner than I thought so I stayed in Clintonville after getting here Friday.
I'm one of the pall bearers. There's a 50% chance of thunderstorms during and after the funeral, but if it rains there'll be a canopy at the grave site. My dress shoes have almost no traction on smooth wet surfaces, but I don't think there'll be smooth surfaces after we leave the church so I should be ok.
I couldn't find my dress pants before I left so yesterday I drove to Green Bay to pick some up. My younger brother and I are not wearing jackets or ties but my dad hated ties so we're good.
I'm doing ok. I took a nap this afternoon and I might have slept too much.
Here's a Flickr album of dad pics I made--we're gonna have it as a slideshow in church before and after the service: [link]

Sounds like things are well in hand, tommyrot. That's a great bunch of pictures.
That's a great bunch of pictures.
Thanks! Most of them I scanned from old family photographs.
I can be a perfectionist about some things, so when I see some of those photos I think how I could make them look better with Lightroom (Adobe's image processing software).
My nephew and I are the computer geniuses in the family. We were gonna set up a slideshow on one of our MacBook pros or his old Windows laptop, but Flickr had a slideshow functionality built in so we're gonna have the church computer do the Flickr slideshow and project them on the big display screens in the church.
I was a pallbearer for my grandfather, and it was really great. It felt like an important part of the ceremony and a last act of service to him.
Ohhhh -t, I'm sure there is stuff I'd want, but I'm still figuring out what I want in general - so no clue what names are.
I had great plans of popping a cake in the oven so I could mess with it tomorrow but my face hurts so much, I just don't have the concentration to think beyond my nose.
