It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

Yay, Daniel's heart!

Nothing says "I love health insurance" like receiving an itemized bill totaling 435,548.02, with a Total Member Responsibility of 0.00.

Pharmacy: 96,920.00 (there are other pharmacy line items)
Intensive care: 29,590.00
Operating room services - Minor surgery: 240,697.00
Organ acquisition - other donor: 7,515.00 I know nothing about material from another donor. Everything was supposed to come from him.

add others to fill out the numbers.

I feel a little nauseous and very, very grateful. God help the people without disability coverage and good employer-provided insurance.

This is just one collection of charges from one provider. I've got stacks of these papers from lots of other people.

Holy shit, Connie.

I wouldn't be able to begin to process that.

I'm pretty sure Hubby's treatment will clear a million dollars once all the numbers are in. They were trying the weird shit.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Connie, I'm glad the amount you owe is $0, but yikes!

ita, I'm sorry that's a bummer, although in the world of academia, it's not a 'no' until you hear it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I remember being completely stunned by my hospital bill after the foot meets lawn mower incident when I was young and uninsured. That number wasn't anywhere near those numbers, Connie.

My twitter feed is 90% Ferguson, MO right now but I've seen a grand total of 3 posts on the subject on FB. Is FB stifling the subject or have people differentiated how they use the two media that much?

And that statement is just for the hospital costs for the last three weeks of his treatment. No doctors, radiologists, etc., treatments at other clinics, etc. I hoped they learned something useful, at least.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

aurelia, I've been seeing the same thing -- I know I very deliberately use the two networks differently; in this case, it's a double whammy of my not doing politics on FB because drama I don't need, plus my policy of not saying anything of any real substance over there because I don't want the creepy fuckers to have it.

And yet, my FB feed (not y'all) needs a wake-up. I'm just too angry and heartsick and spoonless to be the one to do it.

Mine, too.

I don't use FB, and am || this close to just deleting that account.

But right now I need to go to bed. Christ, what a week, and it's not even Thursday yet.

I get that, amych. I use them differently, too. I'm pretty free with likes and comments on FB but I don't always post much. Of course I can go weeks without even looking at Twitter, but when I do tweet I can be certain people from high school won't be responding.

meara - Aug 13, 2014 9:01:26 pm PDT #4124 of 30000

I have plenty of people on FB postin about it. Maybe FB just doesn't want you to see it? Who knows.
