flea, do you think anyone else (besides mr. flea) is expecting all of you to go? Has he told other people that you all will be there, or are his other colleagues all bringing their families? I do agree that there's no particular reason for you and the kids to go, esp. since you already have plans for that day, but I wonder if he might think that, for some reason, it will be embarrassing for him to go without you.

So I dug three pounds of "pork stew meat" out of the freezer and tossed it in a pot with a marinade for Chinese-style BBQ pork and simmered that (MAGNETICALLY because I can) for something like an hour and a half. Petty damn delicious.
But did you tell him we all agreed?
I'd be careful with that. The lurkers might support him being mad.

Usually means no nookie with your coworkers.
No fishing off the company pier. No dipping your pen in the company ink.
I need more modern euphemisms.
My work will almost provide a wedding shower if people meet there.
Mine too, really, although they'll also strongly suggest they don't stay in the same department.
Ah, OK. I don't think I've ever heard it called that before.
