Five years I've lived here and I've never been to the local Farmer's Market before. My sis and I went this morning. It's lovely. Not too big, there are about five short rows of stalls. I bought raw milk cheese and olive oil soap and brown sugar body scrub, and promised the local honey I would be back for it. Then we sat on a stone wall and watched people walk by with their doggies while we ate homemade biscuits with country ham. It was a good morning. I also learned there's another Farmer's Market in a local park on Wednesday evenings. So that's good; I'll go there too.
Then I went back to my sister's house to help her move a couple pieces of furniture. We spent an hour talking about things she wants to do in the house. I was drenched sweating, and she was all, what's wrong with you? What's wrong, madwoman, is that it's hotter and probably more humid inside your house than outside! Turn on the A/C! It was almost 80 degrees in there. She likes it that way. I keep my house about 68 degrees. No wonder she's always climbing under a quilt when she comes to visit me!
My little brother was apparently delighted to receive his presents piecemeal in the mail: a new surprise every day. In the card I sent him he was informed that I would be borrowing all of it when he had finished with them. The gifts that keep giving! Given what a slow reader he is, I'm sure my mum will borrow them as well.
When I asked him about the one graphic novel I sent him, he said he'd just skimmed so far, but that there were boobs. Oh joy, I bought my little brother soft-core porn, that I will be borrowing later.
Maybe I should read it first...
Great pic, Suzi!
DH is taking the kids off my hands for a few hours. I should get some writing done.
Juliebird, please tell me your mother is complaining to the doctor as well about her sore throat and difficulty swallowing. Dehydration is a complication you don't want, especially after surgery.
Oh my mother has been in contact with the doctors and nurses most profoundly. Having been a nurse, she understands that she is her own best advocate, and once had to berate a doctor to diagnose her with Lyme Disease. She's very health conscious and will make an appointment without prodding. (she's not a hypochondriac, she just has tons of health issues).
I still worry. Especially since the fuckers at the hospital are slow to respond and have constantly inconsistent diagnoses. From the same doctor.
Juliebird, much health-ma for your mom!
Health~ma for your mother, Juliebird.
So I'm briefly locked out of my house - I was with my mother and she went to the store and I cane home, but for once in my life I didn't bring my whole purse! And equally unlikely, all the doors here are locked. Ah well.
I am back at my parents to help take care of my dad.
