I'm glad the interviews went well, Consuela and ita.
Good luck with the Toast, Strix!

I recently applied for a job at Western Michigan University. Apparently there are two identical positions and one application goes toward both, which doubles my chances I guess. They're taking applications until 8/20, so I'm not expecting to hear for at least a couple of weeks. Neither the U. of Minnesota nor the Petoskey job have called me in for further interviews, so I'm not terribly hopeful. I had thought the U. of Wisconsin job was a no-go, but someone from there was looking at my linked in profile, so who knows.
Job hunting is depressing.
Erin, are you still doing resumes? Both of my siblings could use some help if you are for hire.
I love that I can keep up with acquaintances from my past lives on Facebook, but it also means sometimes you have an unexpectedly hard week. On Monday our former neighbor from NC died - reading between the lines, I suspect a suicide - leaving his 8 and 6 year old children. This morning I learned that a colleague of mr. flea - he's known both parents in the family since graduate school - drowned yesterday while on a beach vacation. Kids also early elementary school age. WITEBOF, world.
Man, that is hard. How awful for both families.
I cannot shake this headache! It came on... Wednesday night? And has been kind of on and off, so I keep thinking it's gone away. Ibuprofen helps some, but I'm thinking about running out for some acetaminophen to layer. Thoughts?
It's safe to layer -- when I'm really bad I'll alternate 2 ibu every four hours, then two hours later, 2 acetaminophen.

I've taken 800 mgs Advil with 650 mgs Tylenol before. I wouldn't do that more than twice a day, 12 hours apart, though.
See, you poke me, and pain meds fall out.
I asked my coworker with chronic pain if he had any Tylenol and he offered me percoset. Yeah, that might be more than I need!
I took a half day today as I am without McFee or Grandparents and mac has band camp (he had it yesterday also, along with reading class - so I had to leave work 3 times during the day - remember the boss was being "gracious" or something and said just to do what I needed and didn't give me the half day vacation).
I am KILLING it with productivity today - 1st off, slept in 1 hour - GLORIOUS. Dropped E off, got coffee/breakfast, went to vet and got cat food and made appt for cats, went to grocery for mostly non-grocery stuff, went to office supply for 1st round of school supplies, came home and unloaded, got load of laundry in, cleaned litter boxes, and mopped kitchen floor.
I will leave to get mac's lunch and then mac in 10 min.
I also dealt with 3 work emails that were time sensitive, so they will not be oohing over me when I get in at 12:30.
I have been shifting our cleaning supplies over from what McFee liked to use (bleach, lots of disposables) to what I want to use (less chemicals, baking soda/vinegar/hydrogen peroxide, rags, and washable/reusable items) and have discovered that the swiffer, which she used both with dry dust catcher things and wet things to kind of mop, will hold about half of the front or back of an old worn out t-shirt perfectly for a non-diposable cleaner thingy. I just mopped the floor up this way. YAY cheap-o me. Cleaning supply costs will be going down significantly without McFee.
